Hi, I am looking to do a 10-14 day trip to South America during the July-August time frame (mainly Peru, but would love to fit another country in if I can). My only must-see is Machu Picchu, otherwise I am open for anything!
Could you please advise on an itinerary?
Thanks so much, great posts!

Hi there,
With 14 days you definitely have time to check out two countries, at least the highlights…
I can think of 3 potential itineraries that would be a good intro to the continent, depending on what you’re more interested in and how you want to travel:
1. Bolivia + Peru: La Paz- Sucre or Potosi – Salar de Uyuni – Lake Titicaca – Cuzo – Machu Picchu. Cheap, authentic culture and cool Andean landscapes
2. Chile + Peru: Santiago – Atacama Desert – Arequipa – Lake Titicaca – Cuzco – Machu Picchu. More developed/convenient and cool Andean landscapes
3. Argentina + Peru: Buenos Aires – Iguazu – Perito Moreno – Cuzco – Machu Picchu. Flights instead of buses, city life and the most beautiful nature
Enjoy your South American adventure!
